Welcome to ZWB Designs

This site is a portfolio for Zach W. Bingaman. Here you can view my work, download a copy of my resume and business card, and contact me about commissions work or help with a project. As a recent student of Pacific University's Integrated Media Program I understand the challenges that face web designers and am willing to offer consultation to any student or fellow designer. You can follow my life and current projects via my blog "Design Life".

Commissions

Commissions are done on a case by case basis. I decide price based on what's known as the Triple Constraint, Time, Money, Resources. I generally try to work with my clients needs but restrict them based on these three things. For example, if a client has a very small budget I will require a lower retainer fee, but the amount of time the project will take may be extended if I have enough resources to produce the project. As a general rule I require a retainer fee (an initial payment) to compensate me for the time producing the project. Sometimes this retainer fee will be enough to cover any production expenses, but I may require the client to assume financial responsibility for production expenses only if neccessisary. The retainer fee will be 25% of the total project price, so if the project is set at $100 the client will pay an initial $25 at the beginning of the project and $75 at completion.

I open commissions with an introductory meeting either in person or via Skype/AIM video services to establish the needs of the project and develop a contract. Projects will not start until the client has read and signed the contract produced in this meeting. I use Google Sites to outline the project, and will host the project on this site only during development with the clients approval. The project is completed based on the parameters set in the contract, but generally I encourage a finial kick of meeting to launch the project with a 1 month trouble shooting period following. After this point I assume no responsibility for the project. Any additional work beyond this I require a re-commission. I do this to help myself and the client avoid troubling legal situations.

I specialize in Web Design, but have experience in a multitude of media(print, flash, etc). If I do not have the skills to complete a project I keep contacts of highly qualified individuals I can co-commission which can be found on my Contact Page. I also have an array of sites/services I highly encourage using which is also listed on my Contact Page.

Bio

Zachary W. Bingaman Born on 8/12/1986 Zachary Wayne Bingaman grew up in Ashland Oregon. Throughout his education he had constant interaction with art and photography. In high school he was taught by Michael Walsh who shared with him an important piece of advice, "Get as much experience in as many area's as possible". This piece of information carried with him to Pacific University where he got involved with the Integrated Media Program. Inside this program he was able to obtain a vast array of skills working with multiple media forms, and during his senior year obtained an internship with the Berglund Center for Internet Studies as a Web Designer. With the aid of Max Russell, Jeffrey Barlow, and Mike Geraci he was able to expand his knowledge beyond the current curriculum. He specifically got involved working with ADA Web Standards. Today he currently is investigating a possible position with an Advertisement Firm to expand his skills further.
